据本支家谱记载一世祖为颖公，为轩辕黄帝二十九世孙，周文王第十三子。武王令弟封地颖叔于赖国在凌以，因为姓是赖，古青州之地在齐东壁，其郡邑以国土颖川为郡，即河南许州是也颖川郡。生一子名惠公。
据百度百科：叔颖，姬姓，赖氏，名颖，周朝诸侯国赖国始封君、赖姓始祖，武王令弟叔颖率兵与诸侯讨伐无道之纣王，功成退居河南省赖地，武王封于赖国。后世子孙为纪念先世创业，乃以国名赖为姓，国土颍川为号，尊周文王之子叔颖为赖氏一世祖。
